The Moscow delegation visited the Parish of the Russian Orthodox Church in Singapore and presented it with a copy of the Vladimir icon of the Mother of God. Thanking the Moscow Government for the generous gift, senior priest Father Pitirim said: “Having the Days of Moscow in Singapore is a great blessing for all citizens of Singapore, including those who profess the Orthodox faith. We are happy that Moscow remembers its compatriots and cares about them.”
Father Pitirim added that the local Singaporeans had shown plenty of interest in the business and cultural events of the Days of Moscow. “Singaporeans are a welcoming and inquisitive people: they are very interested in foreign culture, not least Russian. Many people here have read Dostoevsky and know what the Bolshoi Theatre and Russian cuisine are,” he said.
